Description
Atlantic Aircraft is delighted to present G-BALJ, a well-equipped 1972 Robin DR400-180 Regent that combines classic Robin handling and outstanding visibility with genuine four-seat touring capability.
Powered by a 180 hp engine, G-BALJ cruises at around 120 knots with a fuel burn of approximately 33 litres per hour, making her an appealing option for cross-country adventures, weekend escapes and memorable trips with friends and family. With her spacious cabin, excellent all-round visibility and distinctive Robin character, G-BALJ offers an incredible way to explore further and make more of every flying hour!
An aircraft with a story to tell
Purchased in February 2025 by a young pilot looking to build hours and gain experience while progressing through the modular training route, G-BALJ has played an important role in his journey towards a professional aviation career. She has provided an enjoyable and capable platform for developing his skills, gaining valuable experience and building those all-important hours.
With the next stage of his commercial pilot training now on the horizon, and his hour building complete, the current owner is ready to pass the aircraft on to someone new – and is hoping that this much-loved aircraft that has been a joy to fly will support its new owner’s aviation journey! The proceeds from this sale will help fund his next step towards his ultimate ambition of a career on the flight deck.
Recent overhauls and modern avionics
With a total airframe time of just 3,500 hours, G-BALJ offers an appealing combination of a relatively low-time airframe with recent engine and propeller overhauls. The Lycoming O-360-A3A was overhauled by Nicholson McLaren, an established aviation maintenance provider, in 2025, and both the engine and propeller have accumulated just 40 hours since overhaul.
Equipped with a Garmin GNX 375 touch screen GPS navigator with ADS-B Out, Garmin GTX 328 Mode S Transponder, Garmin GMA 342 audio panel and Trig TY96 8.33 kHz
