Welcome to General Chat — the catch-all for everything that doesn’t fit elsewhere: fly-ins, aviation news, general banter, and introductions.

Kick us off: what do you fly (or want to fly), and where are you usually based?

Group and shared ownership can make flying far more affordable, but it comes with its own trade-offs. If you’re in a syndicate (or thinking about starting one), what structure works — cost-sharing, scheduling, decision-making?

Also a good place to post if you’re looking for partners for a share.

Hangar space and good airfields are always in demand. Where do you base your aircraft, and how did you find the spot?

Post your recommendations — or your searches — for hangarage, tie-downs, and airfields here. Local knowledge from fellow owners is gold.

Starting this one off simply: who are your go-to engineers or AMOs, and what do you wish you’d known before your first annual or major inspection?

Recommendations, war stories, and general maintenance tips all welcome — this is the place for it.

Kicking off Buying & Selling Advice with an open question: when you were last looking at an aircraft to buy, what were the first things you checked — logbooks, corrosion, avionics, engine hours, damage history?

Share your checklist (or your horror stories) below — it’ll help everyone else buying or selling on SkyMarket.
